The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) Week of International Affairs is an occasion that brings together diplomats, leaders, delegates, and luminaries from around the world to discuss critical global issues. This historic gathering coming to New York City and the tri-state area presents an opportunity to foster cultural exchange and celebrate the diversity of our nations of the world.
International Food Night during the 2023 UNGA week aims to showcase the rich cultural heritage of various countries found right here at New York City’s restaurants, offering New Yorkers, and visiting guests an evening experience of immersive and nostalgic gastronomy enhanced by traditional recipes, dishes and delicacies as only an appetizer to a complete ambiance made for meaningful networking and authentic camaraderie.
International Food Night begins at the 2023 UNGA Week only to run on Wednesday nights throughout the year!
Highlights
Suggested to participating restaurants are the following:
- Live Entertainment such as cultural performances, traditional music dance, or art displays, provide a multi-dimensional experience that complements the culinary journey.
- A food Station to allow guests to engage with the cook/chef, learn about the cultural significance of the dishes, and even pick up a few cooking tips.
- Cultural Performances such as traditional music,
- Themed Decorations: The venue to be transformed into a global feast for the senses, with themed decorations representing the participating countries. This ambiance will transport attendees to different parts of the world without leaving NYC!
- International Beverage Tasting: To accompany the delectable cuisine, certain restaurants wil organize a tasting section for international beverages like wines, beers, and non-alcoholic drinks from various regions.
