Purpose: To serve as a high-level platform facilitating direct engagement and collaboration between incoming governments (particularly those of developing and emerging economies) and the global financial community on Wall Street. This initiative aims to translate the Financing for Development (FfD) agenda into tangible partnerships, investment opportunities, and strategic alliances, thereby accelerating progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and fostering sustainable economic growth worldwide.
Objectives:
- Facilitate Networking: Create direct “meet and greet” opportunities between heads of state, ministers, and senior government officials with leading executives, investors, and financial experts from Wall Street.
- Promote Investment: Showcase specific investment opportunities and projects in developing and emerging economies to potential private sector financiers.
- Share Expertise: Enable consultations and knowledge exchange on best practices in finance, investment structuring, risk management, and capital mobilization.
- Launch Partnerships: Provide a dedicated space for the high-level launching of public-private partnerships, diaspora bonds, green bonds, blended finance initiatives, and other innovative financial instruments.
- Build Trust and Understanding: Foster a deeper understanding between governments seeking development finance and the financial institutions looking for viable, impactful investment avenues.
- Strengthen Financial Ecosystems: Support the development of robust financial ecosystems in developing countries through advisory services and capacity building from Wall Street experts.
